Artist Statement
My design focus as a graphic designer is on unique shapes and colors, which is what I am most interested in. For example, I created a poster for the Center of Career Development office and it was selected by them to promote career development for prospective students. This selected artwork, which focused on a pop art theme, was hung in their Ballston office. Next, I created a 12-page magazine called Healthy Teen, which mainly displayed the color pink, related to the primary colors family and I used a two-column style format in order to display the information more cohesively and consistent. Lastly, I created a multi page brochure for the Smithsonian National Zoo, which displayed bright colors, the serif typeface, and used a 6x6 grid layout. Therefore, these examples provided reflect my design strengths of displaying unique shapes and colors.
